ARELLANA CORDERO NAMED WOMAN OF INFLUENCE IN NEW MEXICO

Arellana Cordero, Executive Vice President and CFO of Southwest Capital Bank and a PROSPERITY WORKS Board member, has been honored by Albuquerque Business First as one of 21 NM Women of Influence for 2017.  She was chosen from among 250 nominees and 120 final applicants for this annual community leadership award.

PROSPERITY WORKS is thrilled to congratulate Arellana.  And we’re proud that the award was specifically focused on her work with our PROSPERITY KIDS™ program.  As the leader of Southwest Capital’s generous commitment to children, Arellana is working with PROSPERITY WORKS™ to provide matched college savings accounts to 6th, 7th and 8th graders from low income families in downtown Albuquerque.  Research proves that these children will be four to six times more likely to go to college than their peers.  Those college educations can move them up and out of poverty, into the workforce with skilled and high-paying jobs, and into business as entrepreneurs themselves.  Their future is brighter because of Arellana’s effort and vision.  Thank you, Arellana, for all you do for New Mexico.

PROSPERITY WORKS is a NM service organization providing opportunity to low income families and children, and advocating for social and economic fairness in our community.  We know that financial and social assets break the bonds of poverty, and are working to bring access to those assets for poor New Mexicans.  Please help to WIN this fight against poverty in NM by contributing to PROSPERITY WORKS at prosperityworks.net, or by calling us at 505-217-2747 to talk about our work and how you can make a difference.
